What happened?

 

Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997 and discontinued all of these products in 1998. In order to streamline Apple's assets, Jobs discontinued these (as well as 344 other) products in favor of a more streamlined strategy to improve Apple's asset strength. The new product line he had Apple focus on only consisted of four products.
